One of my favorite Marial stories is of my second reading with her. She told me I would be offered a marketing opportuniity in three weeks by someone with whom I was currently associated. She told me the name involved could be a person or that of a firm but the first was "J" - Jim, John, she wasn't positive. The second part of the name, she said, was Douglas. I remember walking to my car and being disappointed. I was a certified personal trainer and didn't have any education, skills/training or interest in marketing - - although my first reading had been a success, I left this appointment wondering if Marial knew what she was talking about.
One week later, one of my training clients, Jerry, arrived for his appointment and told me he had been thinking of me. It appeared he had a position opening up in his company...in the marketing department. Was I interested? I felt my hair stand up as confessed that I didn't have any background or knowledge of marketing. Jerry didn't care - he offered to mentor me in the role. He said we would talk more at his next appointment the following week. Week two came and Jerry arrived as scheduled. This time, however, he instantly apologized for mentioning the job opportunity at all; apparently, he had someone in the position that wasn't working out but he felt he should give them another shot. I started wondering if the whole thing had been a strange coincidence, since it didn't look like it was going to come to pass when the NEXT week (week THREE), Jerry showed up for training and said he had to make an unfortunate decision to fire the current marketing person and wanted to know when I could start. I ended up working as his marketing coordinator for two years before accepting my current position - a successful job I am confident I would not have gotten without Jerry's outstanding reference. As he signed my letter of recommendation, I noted his signature with his middle initial - Jerry D. "What's the D stand for?" I asked. "Douglas," he replied.

"I would like to share with you the first time I met Marial. I had recently lost some one dear to me. He was in my life for 22 years.
